"You will have bad times, but they will always wake you up to the stuff you weren’t paying attention to."
Mr. Feeny was one of the best teachers I ever had.
This is a lion making a kill in the wild. I know it’s very graphic but I think it’s important to show just how brutal nature can be.
Have a fork in the road that is obvious, yet I’m still hesitant to turn.
I’m a Millwright Apprentice with Local 1281. Which means I’m an industrial mechanic that specializes in rotating machinery. I love my job. The field I’m in fascinates me to no end.
Millwright work can be scarce at times, which is why for the past few weeks, I’ve been helping out as a Carpenter for Davis Constructors. [Millwrights can do carpenter work, but not vice-verse]
Davis likes me. They’ve seen my work ethic and would love to train me up, however they want a commitment from me. To know that I’m not going to ditch them as soon as Millwright work pops up.
They want me to switch to the Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program.
Davis is a company that Union Carpenters stick with for their entire careers. And if not them, there’s almost always work for carpenters in town.
Logically, I’d be stupid to turn this down. I’m not saying I haven’t enjoyed the last few weeks working for them, I’m just not sure I want to spend the next 20-30 years doing it.
